Adding any colouring agent to wax will slightly reduce the overall burn time. The extent of this reduction depends on the concentration of the dye used and the type of wax itself, but it’s generally a minimal impact compared to simply using uncoloured wax.

Allow the candle to burn long enough for the entire wick to melt completely through – this typically takes around 3-4 hours. This initial ‘burn-off’ removes any carbon build-up from the wax and ensures a clean, even flame thereafter.
