The empty tins are perfectly suitable for creating small, portable candles. Remember to always place any burning candle on a stable surface and never leave it unattended. Consider the size of the tin when choosing your wax – smaller wicks will give you a gentler burn.

When you first light a candle in an empty tin, allow it to burn long enough for the wax pool to reach the edges of the container – this is called ‘establishing a full melt-down’. This will ensure a safe and even burn and prevent tunnelling.
