A poorly positioned candle won't achieve a consistent, even burn; instead, it will create uneven melting, tunnelling, and ultimately, shorten the overall fragrance experience. This isn't simply about aesthetics; a truly effective candle utilises its wax and scent properly, releasing the intended aroma fully and consistently. The initial stage of burning is crucial – this ‘memory zone’ establishes the pattern for subsequent burns, so getting it right from the start makes all the difference.

Conversely, a shorter candle may burn quicker but deliver a more concentrated scent experience in a smaller area. Good ventilation is essential; ensuring air can circulate around the flame helps to distribute the fragrance evenly throughout the room. However, don't place your candle directly in front of an open window or vent – this will exacerbate draft issues and negatively impact the burn.
