A 200g soy wax jar candle from Ember & Oak is designed for approximately 30-50 hours of burn time. However, this varies considerably depending on factors such as wick trimming, how frequently the flame is allowed to melt fully, and room temperature.

It’s important to allow the candle to burn for at least two hours initially. This ‘proper’ first burn helps create a full melt pool across the wax surface – this prevents tunnelling and ensures an even scent throw throughout its life. Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each subsequent burn.
